CHECK! Spring 2013 - Primavera 2013

by , in
Check Party! Inspired by the LVcheck monogram. Spring 2013 is continuing the Geometrical craziness. And it will continue forward, so we must LEARN how to pull off a geometrical look!
Inspiration from Edgar Degas and Pablo Picasso, lets see the shoulds and should nots of Checks!

CHECK!
  • Full length, checkered head to toe.
  • Long skirts - Big Squares
  • Long  wide legged Pants
CHECK NOT!
  • See white and black checkered tube skirt below: why you should never wear that? Because unless you are as thin and tall as a Runway model, you will look at least two or three sizes bigger! Yes! It is true!
  • Skinny Checquered pants - Can you pull it off? Send us your pic!
  • Too much contrast - B&W color combination: if you have very soft features (use yellow/white, beige/whitw, gold/white, instead)
  • Checkered bottom only. See w&b skirt comments.

Read more below on why you should think twice before wearing this skirt...¿Por qué pensarlo dos veces antes de ponerse esta falda?
Edgar Degas

Its preferable that you use this type of color combination, if you have a warm undertone in your skin. We will learn more about that soon, I promise. But just keep in mind that if you sun tan easily, then you would look better with the above outfits.

More Inspiration: Ipad cases, even chairs are all being checked!

CHECK!
  • Largo entero, checks de pies a cabeza.
  • Faldas largas, Cuadrados grandes.
  • Pantalones largos y de pierna ancha
 NO CHECK!

The Winner 2013! Jennifer Lawrence

by , in
Jennifer Lawrence not only won the Oscar 2013 for Best Actress, but she won the admiration of men and women around the globe, when she presented herself with grace and authenticity. despite having trampled on the steps, probably because her dress was too big, more like a bridal dress (one of the reasons why she didn't make it into our Best Dressed list). She went up the stage, and proved that we all have to do just that. Get up, acknowledge our falls and be a total Winner.

She looked gorgeous, her hair and make up were immaculate.

She wore dangling round earings made up of one diamond in its center and smaller diamonds all to the sides.

She was wearing a soft smoky eye make up, and pink sheer lip shine. Her hair pulled up away from her face, and in her natural color, let us all see her true natural beauty.
Looks like she doesn't need all that hair colouring, and heavy make up to call our attention anymore!

Jennifer! We are your fans!

FYI: Jennifer is wearing a Dior Haute Couture dress, Chopard jewels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and Brian Atwood shoes.

Felicitaciones!

TOP 5 HAIR AND MAKE UP Oscars 2013

by , in

  1. Number 1 - Amanda Seyfried wore an Alexander McQueen dress. She is our Number 1!(AP Photo/John Shearer/Invision)
  2. Number 2 - Amy Adams, nominated for best supporting actress for her role in 'The Master" wore a strapless powder blue Oscar de la Renta gown to the event. ( Photo / John Shearer/Invision/AP)
  3. Number 3 - Jennifer Lawrence. The best-acress nominee wore a pale pink strapless Dior gown to the event. (AP Photo/John Shearer/Invision)
  4. Number 4 - Actress Kerry Washington wore a pink-red Miu Miu strapless gown to the event. (AP Photo/John Shearer/Invision)
  5. Number 5 - Naomi Watts wearing a silver, one-shoulder and cap sleeve Armani Prive gown and Neil Lane jewelry. (AP Photo / John Shearer/ Invision)

All 5 of them wore "soft" make up. The colors of the dresses except for both Kerry's and Naomi's were very pale, washed out pastels. With that kind colouring on an evening dress, make up has to show, but not be defined with hard lines, or be too obvious.

A soft smoky eye like Jennifer Lawrence's is a PERFECT fit for these dresses. Pared with pink sheer lips, and soft pinky cheeks is a great combo.

4 out of 5 women were wearing their hair UP. We liked that all were in kind of "messy" up dos. Formal enough for OSCARS and fun enough to maintain the natural playful young look. It seems young looking is what every actress wants to achieve nowadays. Needless to say we saw too many fillers, and Botox on some of those red carpet faces!

Our TOP 5 are all about being natural!

Nothing too extreme, or too hard. This year our TOP 5 make up and hair winners are all about, being true to themselves and letting their own beauty shine!

Do you agree with out TOP 5? Who do you think should be here and is not?

Street style ....Esa Callecita!

by , in
It is freezing lately in NYC, but it's winter time, so why shouldn't it be? Women find all ways to cover themselves but these are proof that even with this kind of weather you can still look fashionably great!

Take a Look @ streets of NYC

Oh I love Those Shoes! Zapatitos de Cristal!

Those Shoes!!!

Too many NYCFashion week designers were using Manolo Blahnik's shoes for their shows. The hard truth is as much as designers and stylists liked them, the models wished better! It is an incredible art to walk gracefully on the runway, and these girls have mastered it!
Thankfully it only takes them less than a minute to walk the runway up and down. So when you see the models on those shoes and that graceful walk, you wish you wore them....but what you don't know is that most of them waited for the last possible second to put them on.  And, as soon as they came off the runway that is the first thing they wanted to remove.
This year Manolo's shoes were present in about 80 percent of the shows I was on. And the thing they had in common was the pointy tip, and the hardness of the materials used, with a prevalence of transparent plastic, which looks gorgeous to me, but is a feet killer. So when I found out they were giving Manolo Blahnik a Royal Designers Award @ Palacio Real el Pardo in Madrid today, I wondered...and then I thought again...well deserved Manolo, you are an Artist! I don't think I could wear your shoes though, but see an exhibition of your work @ Museo Nacional del Prado, I would love!
They look beautiful in a drawing!!!
